About the leather
Hermann Oak has been tanning leather in St. Louis since 1881. Their English Bridle is hot-stuffed with oils and waxes: the grain side has a rich sheen, the flesh side a clean, waxy finish, and the leather holds its shape without cracking. A light waxy bloom may appear on a new belt — buff it with a soft cloth and it becomes part of the shine.
Hardware
Our Line 20 snaps are made by Hasi-Hato, a Japanese manufacturer founded in 1925 and trusted by high-end leather brands for precise, durable, smooth closure. The snaps let you change buckles without tools; Chicago screws are available on request.
Sizing
- 30-50 inches in 2" steps
- Best fit: measure an existing belt from the fold (where the buckle attaches) to the hole you use most
- Pant size shortcut: add 2" (34" pants → 36" belt)
- Do not measure end-to-end
Lifetime warranty
We stand behind every English Bridle belt for life. If the leather strap or snap hardware fails from a defect in materials or workmanship, contact us and we'll repair or replace it. Normal wear, patina and misuse are not covered.

This is a serious piece of leather making a beautiful belt strap. The antiqued finish is a perfect match for suede or distressed leather.

I’m very happy with the custom leather belt that fits the belt parts. I’ve purchased from another vendor. He did an outstanding job. I’m very happy with his work.

This is the my 3rd belt from this store and each one is more beautiful than the one before. The hand-crafting is something you just hold up and marvel over. I can’t believe there are people who can actually make such beautiful objects. I am definitely a forever customer. I did have a couple of questions and the owner could not have been nicer or more accommodating. I’m so glad I found this shop.

Nice leather and great finish. High quality item. Width and length were perfect and holes in the right spot. Sadly, the thickness of the leather was just beyond my vintage silver keeper loop size. I used a vintage brass buckle instead with the leather keeper loop that came with the belt. Will rethink sizing for my vintage buckle and get another one!

This belt is beautifully crafted, however, I feel the colors depicted in the listing are off dramatically. I ordered antique brown and the belt I received is deep dark chocolate bordering on black.

I was replacing the leather on a circa 1950s Navajo belt buckle. It's a snug fit but it looks good and I'm very happy. The original leather was just too dry rotted to safely wear.
